Understanding file writing in Node.js

Node.js offers you a whole toolbox of functions for writing to files. The two most commonly used are fs.writeFileSync for synchronous and fs.writeFile for asynchronous operations.

Synchronous writing

Synchronous operations are straightforward. The function will execute, blocking the entire Node.js event loop, and only upon its completion will the next line of code be executed:

Asynchronous writing

For non-blocking, scalable applications, we use fs.writeFile. It works with a callback which is invoked when the file write operation is completed:
